      NanoSen GmbH

NanoSen GmbH is a Deep-Tech startup and a spin-off of the Technical University of Chemnitz. We have developed an innovative force sensing technology based on polymer nanocomposites (PNC). Our PNC-based force sensor material is highly flexible and robust, with a thickness of only 0.4 mm. It is made from medical silicone infused with carbon nanoparticles. This material enables highly sensitive measurements while maintaining excellent durability. We offer both PNC force sensor materials and plug-and-play sensor kits that can be used in applications across medical technology, automation, robotics, intelligent systems, and other industrial sectors. Our goal is to develop customized solutions and support our customers throughout the entire development process—from product selection to implementation. Our target audiences include system integrators and sensor manufacturers seeking scalable solutions. Our Unique Selling Points: High Sensitivity Across a Wide Range: Our force sensor kit can detect forces from 1 gram up to 15 kilograms with a 20mm sensor. Thanks to piezoresistive and piezocapacitive properties, we provide exceptional sensitivity with a broad measurement spectrum. Flexibility Coupled with Durability: The ultra-thin (0.4 mm) PNC material combines flexibility with extreme resilience. It has successfully endured 15 million cycles under a load of 200 Newtons, making it highly durable. Additionally, the material withstands forces up to 20 Megapascals, making it ideal for demanding industrial applications. Cost Efficiency Through Scalability: Our modular concept enables cost-effective mass production through economies of scale, ensuring our sensors remain affordable for industrial use. Easy Integration: Our plug-and-play sensor kits with USB and I2C interfaces facilitate quick and straightforward integration into existing systems—saving time and reducing costs. Innovative Measurement Method: Our patented impedance measurement technique enhances accuracy compared to resistance-based systems and is well-suited for calibration processes. With our innovative approach—combining scientific excellence with industrial scalability—we aim to set new standards in force sensing technology and actively shape the growing market for smart, connected systems.
