Customized Linear Magnetic Scales (Tapes)

Linear Magnetic Scales (LMS) are the basis for highly accurate incremental and absolute magnetic measurement systems. The magnetization process, developed and patented by BOGEN, writes the magnetic poles with an exceeding accuracy referring to width and position. LMS is resistant to environmental influences like production residues, utilities, vibrations, and others. The operating temperature ranges from - 40°C up to + 100 °C. Accuracy classes up to ± 3 μm ensure magnetic scale solutions for a great number of customer applications, such as automation technology, robotics, and mechanical and electrical engineering.

New RMU series of magnetic rings for standard market-available sensors

The new RMU series of magnetic rings from BOGEN Magnetics is designed for use with standard absolute magnetic sensors available in the market and various sensing technologies, such as Hall Effect and magneto-resistive. They can be magnetized radially or axially and are available in a range of hollow shaft diameters from 15 to 70 mm. These rings are the perfect match with the AKP18 absolute magnetic sensor. The AKP18 is extremely light and compact, ideal for the tightest spaces. It can be paired with a variety of rings with radial and axial magnetization, and linear solutions are also possible. The AKP18 sensor provides the absolute information via the SSI or BiSS-C interfaces. The resolution is up to 20 bits. It can be operated at a work temperature of up to +100°C, and two integral LEDs provide useful diagnostic information. It is even possible to install and operate up to seven AKP18 measuring heads with Wire2board connectors in a Daisy Chain network connection.
