Electronics for industrial automation – compact, flexible, customized. Cybertron develops and manufactures electronics and automation solutions for demanding industrial applications. Our focus is on customized hardware, motor controllers, and electronic system solutions – from individual components and axis systems to fully developed and manufactured devices. At AllAboutAutomation in Berlin, we will be presenting, among other things, StepperTron, our newly developed, extremely compact, and versatile motor controller. With a size of only 28 × 28 mm and a weight of 5 g, StepperTron is one of the smallest solutions for integrated drive technology. At the same time, the controller offers a high degree of functional integration and can be flexibly adapted to different automation tasks. StepperTron – our motor controller in the smallest space. StepperTron was developed for applications where installation space, flexibility, and easy integration are crucial. The controller supports stepper motors, two DC motors, or BLDC motors and can be operated with a motor voltage of 5 to 48 V and a continuous current of up to 4.5 A. This makes StepperTron suitable for a wide range of compact drive and motion solutions. StepperTron is also designed for flexible integration in terms of communication. Supported interfaces include RS-485, CAN, RS-232, USB, SPI, and IO-Link. RS-485 and CAN can even be used simultaneously. An integrated, freely programmable co-processor enables additional control and automation functions. External components can be integrated via over 20 programmable GPIOs with functions such as PWM, I²C, and ADC. Predefined commands simplify the integration of components such as photoelectric sensors or additional communication modules. Various motion control methods are available, including Field-Oriented Control (FOC), S-curve, trapezoidal, and velocity profiles. Features such as PID autotuning and feedforward PID allow for precise adaptation to the specific application. With a PWM frequency of up to 1 MHz, 256-fold microstepping, and a 2 kHz control loop, StepperTron offers extensive capabilities for demanding motion tasks. Furthermore, the controller features integrated diagnostic functions for encoders, communication, and drivers, as well as stall detection and automatic current reduction. A bootloader enables firmware updates. The controller can be configured and programmed via StepperTron Studio. StepperTron's concept is intentionally open: The controller can be adapted to the specific application via additional modules and customer-specific extensions. Available options include, for example, a 14-bit SPI encoder with gyroscope, M12 interfaces, multiplexers for RS-485, RS-232, CAN, and IO-Link, as well as EtherCAT and other customer-specific modules.
