Our Products
USB-AC-PD – Our Bestseller for the Modern Control Cabinet. The USB-AC-PD is a 230 V AC DIN rail power supply that brings USB-C Power Delivery directly into the control cabinet. It delivers 5 V/3 A, 9 V/2.22 A, or 12 V/1.67 A, reliably powering USB-C PD devices such as laptops, embedded computers, tablets, or smart meter gateways – eliminating external plug-in adapters that have no place in an industrial environment. Protection against input voltage transients, short-circuit and no-load safety at the output, and tolerance to moderate overvoltages make the device operationally robust. Thanks to the elimination of electrolytic capacitors, it is designed for an exceptionally long service life. The operating temperature range of –40 °C to +50 °C covers even demanding environments.
HDR20-5-12 – Flexible DIN Rail Power Supply with Selectable Voltage. The HDR20 is a compact 230 VAC power supply for the DIN rail with switch-selectable output voltage: 5 V at 4 A, 9 V at 2.22 A, or 12 V at 1.67 A. NoElko technology ensures exceptional reliability – an active overvoltage protection automatically discharges the output under overvoltage conditions. Input transient protection, short-circuit resistance, and no-load safety are standard features. The HDR20 also operates in the extended temperature range of –40 °C to +50 °C.
AC/DC DIN Rail Power Supplies with E-Fuse – The DPS power supply range delivers stabilized 24 V DC directly from the DIN rail. Integrated E-Fuse technology protects downstream loads electronically – faster and wear-free compared to conventional fuses. Via digital communication interfaces, each power supply reports its operating status in real time: voltage, current, temperature, efficiency. This transforms the power supply from a passive component into an intelligent system participant.
Ultra-Compact DC/DC Converters – Half the size of a fuse, but full performance: DPS DC/DC converters are ideal wherever space is limited – in decentralized cabinets, directly at the machine, or in mobile systems. Here too: no electrolytic capacitors, no planned obsolescence.
All DPS products are based on the same patented film capacitor platform and are designed for industrial 24/7 continuous operation.
Why Choose a Power Supply from DPS? The Electrolytic Capacitor Problem.
Most industrial switching power supplies and DIN rail power supplies rely on electrolytic capacitors. Their electrolyte dries out over the years – even faster at elevated temperatures. Typical service life in 24/7 operation: only 9 years. This means: long before a cobot, an MES system, or a real-time production line reaches the end of its life, the power supply fails – unplanned, costly, and in the worst case during ongoing production.
In a smart factory that relies on digital transformation, closed-loop control, and OEE optimization, an unplanned power supply failure is not just a technical problem – it is a business risk. Every hour of downtime costs money – especially when predictive maintenance monitors wear on motors and sensors, but the power supply remains a blind spot in the system.
The DPS Solution: Film capacitors instead of electrolytic capacitors. No liquid electrolyte that can dry out. The result: a proven service life of over 50 years in continuous operation at full load and rated temperature. At the same time, the entire platform is digitally designed: integrated interfaces allow operating parameters to be read out in real time and integrated into IIoT networks, predictive maintenance strategies, and digital twins. Connectivity to common protocols such as IO-Link, PROFINET, and other fieldbus systems enables seamless integration into existing industrial communication architectures – including via remote I/O.
Application Fields: Where DPS Power Supplies Make the Difference
Collaborative Robotics (Cobots) & Intelligent Robotics
Cobots work directly alongside humans – often in three-shift operation, 365 days a year. The power supply must be just as reliable as the robot arm itself. A DPS DIN rail power supply delivers stable 24 V DC for decades without requiring a technician for replacement. The same applies to the growing field of intelligent robotics, where modular robots are deployed in flexible manufacturing scenarios. Bin picking, 3D vision, and machine vision place high demands on voltage quality – interference pulses and voltage dips can directly impair image processing algorithms. DPS power supplies deliver clean, low-ripple output voltage, creating the foundation for precise image processing and reliable robot safety.
Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) & Charging Stations
AMR fleets navigate autonomously through warehouses and production facilities. Their charging stations are critical points: if a power supply in the charging infrastructure fails, the entire intralogistics operation comes to a halt. DPS DIN rail power supplies in charging stations ensure uninterrupted operation over the entire service life of the AMR fleet – a decisive factor for the scalability of intralogistics projects.
Industrial AI, Embedded AI & Edge Computing
Industrial AI is fundamentally changing manufacturing: machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI are increasingly deployed as embedded AI directly on industrial computers and edge devices. Even no-code AI platforms and AI agents that autonomously optimize process parameters depend on stable power supply. An AI-optimized IPC draws significantly more power under full load than conventional PLC systems – and is sensitive to voltage fluctuations. The USB-AC-PD powers embedded computers and edge devices directly via USB-C Power Delivery in the control cabinet, while the 24 V power supplies feed the overarching infrastructure.
Machine Safety, Functional Safety & Cyber Resilience
In safety-critical applications, the power supply must be part of the safety concept. DPS power supplies support PELV/SELV architectures and are designed for environments that meet the requirements of the Machinery Regulation 2023/1230 and functional safety standards. Digital monitoring enables continuous self-diagnosis – a building block for PROFIsafe-compliant safety concepts.
In the context of the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and growing requirements for OT security and OT cybersecurity, the choice of the right power supply is gaining importance: a power supply that digitally reports its own operating status contributes to the transparency and integrity of the entire automation chain.
IIoT, Field Level & Digital Twin
Every IO-Link-capable device, every PROFINET node, every remote I/O module needs power. In a typical IIoT architecture, dozens of sensors and actuators are distributed across the machine – powered by DIN rail power supplies in the cabinet or decentralized. Smart meter gateways that collect and transmit energy data can be powered directly via the USB-AC-PD. DPS power supplies deliver not only energy but also diagnostic data that feeds directly into the digital twin of the system. This transforms the power supply from an invisible consumable into a transparent asset in the closed-loop of production control.
Cabinet-Free Automation & Retrofit
The trend toward cabinet-free automation – control technology outside the cabinet, directly at the machine – places special demands on the power supply: compact form factor, extended temperature range, maximum reliability. The ultra-compact DC/DC converters and DIN rail power supplies from DPS are ideal for retrofit projects where existing machines are upgraded with modern sensors and controls. The HDR20 with its selectable output voltage is particularly suited for retrofit scenarios where different voltage levels are required. Thanks to plug-and-play compatibility and easy-to-use design, integration is fast and straightforward – an advantage especially for SMEs implementing automation step by step.
Sustainability, Energy Efficiency & Circular Economy
A power supply that lasts 50 years does not need to be replaced five times during that period. This saves raw materials, energy, and electronic waste – a tangible contribution to sustainability in automation, resource conservation, and the circular economy. Additionally, high efficiency across the entire load range improves the energy efficiency of the overall system. In applications with renewable energy and in the field of additive manufacturing, DPS power supplies also provide a long-lasting foundation.
5 Reasons for DPS Power Supply
