EFCO has now developed an additional control panel suitable for its multi-touch panel IPCs, the design of which is coordinated with its own 15” or 21” panel IPCs. Customer-specific versions are available - ready for installation and pre-wired - starting from 20 pieces. While the smaller multi-touch panel industrial PCs (TPCs) have six slots available on the additional control panel, the larger ones have up to eight. Depending on the customer application, any indicator lights can be installed, selector switches, touch buttons for setting operations, key switches, RFID receivers for easy registration on the machine - or even the classic “emergency stop”. While the latter must be taken into account separately as a safety-related function, the other control devices are conveniently connected via USB. This means that the 16 digital IOs present as standard in all EFCO IPCs remain free - which suits many customers who already use these IOs for sequence controls etc. within their applications. In addition, the USB connection ensures that the additional control panel from EFCO is generally suitable for all PC-based systems. At 391.5 mm, the narrower additional control panel is exactly as wide as the 15.6-inch multi-touch panel IPC; For the larger one, the width of 538 mm corresponds to the housing format of the 21.5-inch TPC. The height is 145 mm each. At 68 mm, both additional control panels are exactly as deep as the panel IPCs and therefore offer all standard command devices enough installation space and, above all, wiring space. The multi-touch panel industrial PCs from EFCO are designed for harsh, continuous industrial use and are suitable for operation with gloves.

EFCO is introducing a new generation of its Eagle Eyes AIH family. This impresses with "Comet Lake" processors from i3 to i9, a 2.5 GB LAN interface and exchangeable AI accelerator hardware. The EFCO-typical industrial features have remained, such as a DC wide range, surge-protected inputs and the 16 digital IOs, which can be used to embed sequence controls in the high-level language. Completely new in this device class is the 2.5 GB high-speed LAN with PoE (Power over Ethernet). This means that powerful cameras with high frame rates can be connected directly to the PC via a single cable. To enable images to be evaluated more quickly or patterns to be recognized and classified more quickly, AI accelerator hardware is optionally on board. EFCO uses the computer's M.2 port for this, thus offering a scalable, modular solution with update potential for this rapidly developing technology. The new EFCO Eagle Eyes IPC family AIH comprises a total of seven designs of compact 10th generation industrial PCs with Intel "Comet Lake" processors Core i3, i5, i7 and i9. All versions have numerous interfaces in common, including RS-485, which is still frequently found in industrial plants. In addition to WiFi 6 and Bluetooth, communication modules for 4G, 5G, GPS and GSM/GPRS are also available. The LGA 1200 socket of this computer accommodates processors up to 95 W. The computers themselves offer up to 64 GB DDR-4 RAM "on board". The most powerful version AIHD-4PE is prepared for mounting on the DIN rail and also offers four full-size PCI module slots, optionally with appropriate forced cooling. All versions of the new Eagle Eyes AIH family are characterized by a sophisticated thermal design that enables a fanless construction of the devices with up to 35 W processor power.
