About us
Intelligent solutions - engineered by eks
Since 1986 we have been producing systems for industrial networks. Customized engineering services complete our portfolio. Thus, even customized solutions in small quantities are possible.
Apart from industrial active communication devices such as fieldbus converters, Industrial Ethernet switches and routers, we also offer a comprehensive portfolio of passive components such as DIN rail or 19'' splice boxes or other accessories such as pigtails, couplings etc.
Products & services

Smart City
Products of the Smart City series transform lighting or traffic light poles according to (DIN 49778 and DIN EN 40-5) into networked infrastructure elements. The connection technology can be easily installed and maintained and is completely protected against vandalism. IP-devices such as cameras, sensors or access points can be attached to a pole equipped in this way, connected at gigabit speed via fibre optic cables and powered with an output power of up to 60 W. The Smart City products are modular in design and can be variably equipped. This is ideal for individual, site-specific equipping of the masts and makes later expansion and retrofitting effortless. The customization options range from the design of the housing and the protection class to the number of ports and the type of optical connection technology to industry-specific approvals. The ultra-compact connection box pe-light integrates passive or active data transmission (unmanaged/managed)) and power connection into the fibre optic network in the light pole and thus forms the smart node for the future Internet-of-Things on the company premises or in the Urban Infrastructure and the Smart City.

Industrial Ethernet Switches and Media Converters
e-light media converters and switches are especially designed for industrial applications. They have got a robust housing, compact design, a wide temperature range and an extended input voltage range. They can be used with all fiber types such as multimode, singlemode POF and HCS (PCF). Furthermore, they feature BiDi technology and can have various connectors such as SMA, ST, SC, FC-PC as well as E-2000. Apart from that a crimpless version for POF fibers is available. Thus, e-light systems can be used in many indoor and outdoor applications.

Industrial Splice- and Patchboxes
We produce high-quality and robust splice boxes in different dimensions and types as well as for all common couplings. All splice boxes are ready for splicing and due to their flexible mounting options they guarantee an easy and time-saving installation. With FIMP-XL-Hybrid we offer a hybrid splice box that combines copper and glass fiber in one single device. It can not only be used for data transmission but also for energy supply and is suitable for the installation on spots that are difficult to access. We refine standards and develop product and application specific solutions that meet our customers requirements.

Interface- and Media Converter (PROFIBUS, CAN, RS232, TTY)
We produce high performance FO systems for all common field busses and interfaces such as ProfiBus, CAN, Modbus, Modnet, RS232, TTY and many more. The systems have industrial features such as wide temperature ranges or approvals and all have a robust stainless steel housing. They support all common fiber types such as POF, HCS, multimode and singlemode and a great variety of optical connectors. We refine standards and develop product and application specific solutions that meet our customers needs.

TSN Analyzer
The TSN Analyser is a new diagnostic device in a robust design developed by eks Engel. It has been developed especially for project planning as well as commissioning, maintenance and continuous monitoring of TSN networks (Time-Sensitive Networking). In contrast to expensive laboratory devices, the TSN analyser enables a simple and cost-effective entry into the analysis of TSN data servers. This is made possible by InnoRoute's TSN technology, which has been tested in the LNI 4.0 and IIC testbeds. Among other things, the TSN analyser supports the real-time standards and procedures from the bridges and bridged network standards IEEE 802.1Q and the profile from IEEE 802.1AS, which is based on the time synchronisation specification IEEE 1588. The integrated web interface allows management and diagnostic functions to be used via a self-explanatory graphical user interface. A command line interface (CLI) is also available. In the future, the functional scope of the TSN analyser can be individually expanded via optional software modules. For example, TSN endpoint, traffic generator and various protocol converters, such as from TSN to Profinet or Modbus-TCP, are planned.
