The company name ept stands for electronic precision technology and thus underlines the high quality standards it sets for itself. ept GmbH develops and manufactures a wide range of connectors that are used in areas such as data processing and communication, control and measurement technology, medical technology, automotive engineering, transportation and military technology, and many more.
The core competence of ept GmbH lies in the development and manufacture of connectors using press-fit and soldering technology, as well as processing machines and tools for press-fit technology.
Based on innovative product ideas and first-class production technology, ept offers comprehensive complete solutions from a single source in the field of connectors and processing technology. ept not only develops the connectors of the future, but also designs and builds all the machines and tools for manufacturing the connection solutions itself. From punching the contacts and injection molding the isobodies to assembling the connectors on assembly machines developed and built in-house, ept manufactures the connectors in-house. Six in-house electroplating lines realize a variety of surface combinations and guarantee not only the highest quality but also offer an optimal cost-benefit ratio and create maximum flexibility.
In addition to high quality standards, environmental compatibility plays a key role at ept. Zero8 Board-to-Board Connector in SMT
The SMT PCB connectors of the Zero8 series reliably connect PCBs with data transfer rates up to 16 Gbps. Place your trust in reliable contacting, even under difficult operating conditions and challenges such as vibrations and shock! At the same time, you’ll enjoy the full flexibility that the plug connector system’s scalability provides with respect to the number of contacts, board-to-board spacing and orientation, as well as optional EMC shielding. Unlike conventional SMD connectors that establish contacting through a blade contact and a spring contact, our shielded Zero8 PCB connector has a blade contact and also a spring contact on each pair of connectors (plug or socket). With this reliable connection technology, this connector in 0.8 mm pitch ensures double contacting on a single pin and establishes high redundancy and thus maximum contact reliability. As a result, the gender-neutral contact system ensures safe, robust and gas-tight contacting despite external influences such as shocks, vibrations, thermal cycles and noxious gas. With a very high tolerance compensation of 0.4 mm when mated, the gender-neutral contact system of the Zero8 connector thus has a floating functionality and makes the connector particularly scalable. The geometry of the insulating housing is also designed in such a way that the contacts are submerged in the insulating body and are thus protected in such a way that damage to the contacts becomes virtually impossible. In addition, the geometry reliably prevents the contacts from being mated incorrectly.

The One27® range offers a high level of flexibility and at the same time reliable connectors for a number of board-to-board applications. The product family is based on a pitch of 1.27 mm, offers both straight and angled types as well as connections with ribbon cable, and is available in pin counts from 12 to 80 pins. The connectors are compatible with currently available products and their performance in tests has been excellent.
