About us
NanoSen GmbH is a deep-tech startup and a spin-off of the Technical University of Chemnitz. We develop next-generation force sensing solutions based on advanced polymer nanocomposite materials combined with a proprietary force sensing impedance technology. Our ultra-thin (0.4 mm), flexible sensing material is made from medical-grade silicone infused with conductive carbon nanoparticles, enabling highly sensitive and durable force measurement.
Unlike conventional resistance-based approaches, NanoSen’s force sensing impedance technology evaluates the frequency-dependent electrical response of the material under load, resulting in improved stability, repeatability, and robustness against environmental influences. We offer both polymer nanocomposite force sensing materials and plug-and-play sensor kits, supporting applications in medical technology, robotics, automation, and industrial systems. NanoSen works closely with system integrators and sensor manufacturers, providing scalable solutions and development support from initial evaluation through implementation.

Impedance-based Force Sensing for Smart Robotic Interaction
NanoSen presents a new generation of force sensing technology based on advanced PNC materials combined with a proprietary impedance-based readout principle. The ultrathin, flexible sensor films can be integrated directly into robotic grippers or contact surfaces to measure force and pressure precisely at the point of interaction. Compared to conventional capacitive sensors, NanoSen’s impedance-based approach delivers high signal stability with reduced drift under long-term mechanical load and changing environmental conditions. This enables adaptive grip control, improved safety in human-robot collaboration, and reliable handling of sensitive objects. Ideal for robotics, automation, and research.

PNC Force Sensing Material
Our customizable material utilizes resistance or capacitance to detect mechanical force, changing its conductivity in a compressed state. Made from medical grade polymers,it is engineered for stability and overload resistance. Flexibility delivered in 0,4mm sheets and customizable to various shapes and sizes. Adaptability for a wide range of applications from robotics and automation to wearables. Sensitivity at low forces and microns of compression with extended range capabilities. Durability to withstand harsh conditions while maintaining performance integrity.

PNC Force Sensor Kit
Our specialized kit is ideal for engineers, technicians and research institutions who want to begin quickly and efficiently. Our kit is developed as a plug-n-play product with everything inlcuded to get started. Five Readouts can be used in parallel with the provided force sensors. Seamless Integration is provided with established communication protocols over USB and I2C. The LED Readout is equipped with range calibration buttons to be used for stand alone visualization. The compact Design facilitates easy installation with a form factor of only 60x35x16mm.

Force Matrix Kit
The Force Matrix Kit is a plug-and-play evaluation system for measuring and visualizing force and pressure distributions across surfaces. It is based on ultra-thin, flexible sensor matrices made from polymer nanocomposite materials and uses NanoSen’s proprietary force sensing impedance technology to deliver stable and repeatable measurement results. The kit enables rapid setup, real-time data acquisition, and straightforward integration into flexible, curved, or space-constrained structures, making it ideal for prototyping, application testing, and system evaluation.
