About us
The range of services offered by Paul Rüster & Co. GmbH includes the development, design, manufacture, calibration and sale of sensors and components for temperature measurement technology for use in industrial facilities, power plants, building technology and building automation (HVAC), electrical machines, traffic engineering, wind turbines, refrigeration and air conditioning technology, as well as systems in the chemical industry.
The product range includes resistance thermometers with Pt100, Pt1000, NTCs, PTCs, Ni sensors and thermocouples type J, L, K, N, S, R and B.
Furthermore, many types are available in an explosion-proof version – certified according to ATEX, IECEx and EAC – or with DNV certification.
Paul Rüster & Co. is the German contractual partner for the traditional Italian company iSMA CONTROLLI. Our product portfolio is supplemented here with high-quality valves and drives for applications in building automation.

Slot resistance thermometer
Explosion-proof slot resistance thermometers are used to measure the winding temperature in the stator of generators or electric motors for the approved “intrinsic safety” and “increased safety” types of protection. ExNWT’s can be equipped with platinum thin-film measuring resistors (chip) or also be manufactured as a wound version. The chip variant records the temperature at specific points in a very small area, since the temperature-sensitive length of the thin-film resistor is just a few millimeters. The coiled variant records the average temperature over the entire active length of the sensor. Dimensions depend on the stator and can be adapted to the different slot sizes.
EXPLOSION PROTECTION
Increased design requirements for gas or dust explosion hazardous areas represent a high level of responsibility for the installer and operator of these systems! Only temperature sensors approved by accredited test centers meet the high requirements of DIN EN 60079-0! Find the right sensor from our extensive European and international approvals (ATEX / IECEx & EAC Ex). We would be happy to support you with this.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION
Resistance thermometers are used in different areas of industry. As a manufacturer, we can offer individually adapted sensor dimensions with a wide variety of measuring elements for your systems, even for small quantities.
MARITIME APPLICATIONS
Only sensors approved for this purpose may be used in technical plant areas of ships. The combination of ATEX approval and DNV approval of our systems Ex-BR / Ex-Bi / Ex-KF & Ex-WI offers a wide range of applications in numerous technical areas of the ship.
RAILWAY TECHNOLOGY
There are a wide variety of train variants worldwide, which are specified by regional environmental requirements and various national or international legal requirements. In connection with this, it is understandable that there is not one standard temperature sensor for all requirement profiles.
