About us
SOMA GmbH is an independent company under the umbrella of the KOSTAL group of companies and has been a system supplier for industry- and product-specific testing and automation systems for mechatronic and electronic products for over 50 years.
In the field of testing technology, the range of services and products extends from specification testing systems for laboratory use, to analysis and warranty testing systems for testing applications during development and production, to fully automated end-of-line functional testing systems for use in production.
This applies equally to the implementation of semi- or fully-automatic assembly facilities, as well as to highly automated testing systems, where production-compliant automation concepts and product-specific testing technology requirements must be individually coordinated in order to be able to implement an optimal system.

flexAssistant worker assistance system
flexAssistant is the digital worker guidance system from SOMA and maps manual work steps completely digitally: from production to packaging to documentation. In the process, flexAssistant coordinates complex processes and all production sequences in the factory, helps train employees and guides your staff in assembly and production. Our flexible and modular worker assistance systems enable the retrieval of relevant process parameters, component queries, provide digital work instructions as well as insight into planned routes of an AGV – flexAssistant worker assistance helps you to plan and execute your processes flexibly and reliably. For this purpose, the SOMA worker assistance system provides everything necessary for production, testing, packaging and documentation within the company.

Precision medium pump
The SOMA precision medium pump (PMP) offers standard, intelligent pressure relief when supplying lubricants in industrial production processes. Based on the scoop piston principle with a very low transmission ratio, the SOMA PMP precision medium pump gently supplies your lubricant application with medium. The special follower plate geometry ensures fast venting with very low losses. A safety PLC in accordance with the Machinery Directive and a digital interface to a higher-level control system provides a safe and controllable process at all times.

Pressure balance system
To achieve good dosing results that are reproducible, the pressure of the medium to be dosed (grease, oil or technical lubricants) must be limited upstream of the dosing valves to the optimum maximum pressure for the relevant application. The patented SOMA pressure balance system DAS 120/12 ensures, up to a maximum inlet pressure of 250 bar, that the medium pressure set on the outlet side is available to the dosing valves at a constant level and without pressure fluctuations. It is therefore predestined for use in supply systems for highly viscous media with low and medium pressure pumps.

Grease handling system
The patented FHS grease handling system from SOMA consists of replaceable grease storage canisters, a central loading station and any number of local unloading stations. In addition, the aluminium grease storage canisters are easy to transport. As an economical alternative to dosing devices with their conventional grease supply, it offers a new type of supply concept with numerous logistical and technical advantages so that your dosing devices are supplied with industrial greases and technical lubricants in a clean and economical way and with process reliability.

Dosing inspection system
Ensuring reproducible quality is the greatest challenge when dosing lubricants in production processes in an industrial environment. Potential impurities or air pockets in the lubricant influence the dosing process and can lead to poor results. SOMA's unique DIS dosing inspection system, developed by us, reliably and accurately detects poor dosing results automatically so that the affected products can be handled in line with production specifications - automatically and in real time for lubricant dosing in your production processes, enabling process reliability.

Impulse dosing valve
The patented dosing valve for industrial lubricants is the result of several years of experience in developing and producing components in the field of volumetric lubricant dosing. The impulse dosing valve is in its element wherever lubricant quantities have to be dosed with positional accuracy and in a precise volume. It is controlled by a monostable, quick-acting pneumatic valve and achieves up to 20 dot-shaped doses per second. Different dosing volumes are therefore possible with a corresponding number of controls with only one IDV without significant loss of time.
