Efficient Release Aid for Push-Pull Circular Connectors of the Y-Circ P Series
The successful Y-Circ P series of push-pull circular connectors from Yamaichi Electronics is being expanded with a new release system. The opening assistance is compatible with all straight and angled cable connectors of the Y-Circ P series and can be used for all standard sizes. With its facilitating release function, this accessory helps the user to gain full advantage of the push-pull connectors – especially within tight mounting spaces. Merely pulling on the lanyard leads to an unlocking effect for the push-pull circular connector. The lanyard extends the circular connector to a certain extent. Therefore, the push-pull system´s feature and advantages completely maintain. An increase in time-efficiency can be gained through a better accessibility of the unlocking device, on behalf of extremely tight connector positions. Reason being the circular connectors are accessible and can be pulled without much effort. Yamaichi Electronics offers new products of the Y-Circ P series in a pre-assembled condition. The new release system can be used immediately after delivery. On the other hand, the unlocking aid is offered as a retrofit kit for field assembly. Customers who have already purchased circular connectors can easily assemble the unlocking aid themselves without suffering any functional disadvantages compared to the product with pre-assembled unlocking relief. Yamaichi’s supporting tool YCP-ACT-2 assists for an easy installation. Customer-specific connectors as well as customer-specific release aids can also be realised quickly and flexibly due to our own production and development in Germany. IP20 Metal Cover for RJ45 Plugs
The new Y-Con Cover 20-TC replaces the current version of Y-Con Cover 20, which has a great acceptance in the market for many years. Like Y-Con Cover 20, the new Y-Con Cover 20-TC is an IP20 full metal version, which protects the plug from all kind of influences in an IP20 industrial area. Strong mechanical resistance paired with a high protection against EMI disturbance guarantees the optimal signal transmission. In contrary to the current version, the new Y-Con Cover 20-TC is useable with different cable diameters. A diameter range between 5.5 mm and 7.1 mm gives high flexibility for a variety of cables. Moreover, the Y-Con Cover 20-TC can be assembled tool free. The new snap hook concept makes screws redundant so that the upper and lower part only need to be pressed together. This saves about 30% to 50% assembly time and thus means pure cost reduction. It does not even take into account the possibility of screws falling down or being lost. If necessary, the cover can be reassembled up to 5 times. Together with our Y-Con Plug connector series, which is available with a different number of contacts, the Y-Con Cover 20-TC can be used for various RJ45 applications. The plug series is also constructed and tested for rough applications as are common in the industrial sector. In addition, optional integrated power contacts offer the possibility for the power transmission of up to 2.1A. M12 Push-Pull with Inner Locking is International IEC Standard
Yamaichi´s push-pull version of the M12 connector is the very first M12 push-pull design, which has been defined as an international standard (IEC 61076-2-012). Therefore, M12 push-pull design-ins are possible now for M12 push-pull systems, without using proprietary solutions. From the beginning, Yamaichi Electronics has been setting a new standard with the M12 push-pull with inner locking. The cable-side connector engages deep into the device socket from the inside with locking hooks. As a result, the push-pull system requires only the same installation space as a common M12 connection with screw locking. With this technology, it is possible to completely insert the M12 socket into the device, e.g. to integrate it into a distribution box, aligned flush with its housing. The system is IP65 / IP67 water and dust proof and uses independent sealing concepts for screw-type and push-pull connector. Thus, the mixed usage of the connectors is possible in a reliable way. The particularly long locking hooks of the cable connector are supported by the threaded segments of the device socket. This makes the system mechanically extremely robust. In addition, this offers significant advantages when subjected to torsional loads and rotational forces. This means the user takes advantage of all the benefits of the push-pull locking system: considerable time saving, miniaturisation, blind and tool-free contact mating with simple handling – in accordance with the standardised M12 specification. Standardisation brings security During the international standardisation, industry-standard requirements regarding device integration and functionality were introduced and taken into account. This ensures the ideal basis for cross-manufacturer compatibility, which has already been proven between different manufacturers. The fast implementation of the IEC 61076-2-012 in less than 2 years is further evidence of this. The M12 push-pull is fully backwards compatible with the screw lock type.

Waterproof Push-Pull Circular Connector with Protection Rating IP68
For the second time in three years, the waterproof T-Series of Y-Circ P push-pull circular connectors from Yamaichi Electronics has won the title of "Product of the Year" in a readers' poll conducted by the electronics trade press. The renewed award by the trade public underlines the excellent acceptance of the T-Series in the market. The reliable waterproofness (protection rating IP68) at 5,000 mating cycles and the simple assembly are convincing. With the T-Series, Yamaichi Electronics has developed a connector with a robust locking system that meets complex requirements and still offers all the advantages of a push-pull connector, such as 5,000 mating cycles with reliable waterproofness. The successfully launched T-Series offers protection against permanent submersion in water and is available in four sizes (outer diameter 9 mm, 12 mm, 15 mm, 18 mm). All connectors have been tested and qualified in the in-house laboratory for 48h at 1m water depth and thus comply with protection rating IP68. The design includes the patented cable sealing collet. The cable seal and collet are reduced to just one part. This enables simple, fast and error-free assembly. Together with the long service life, the connector series has considerable savings potential. Different standard pin patterns are available for all sizes. Customer-specific pin patterns can be realised quickly and flexibly. The online configurator helps with the correct combination and generates the appropriate type number for the user for easy ordering.

Y-Lock Pullforce – Reliable Board-to-Cable System with FFC made in Germany for Automation Applications
The Y-Lock series is a board-to-cable system and available in 3 different versions. In the last years the renowned system has proven itself. It is successful in diverse applications. The FFC (Flexible Flat Cables) suitable for the connector are produced in Yamaichi Electronics´ own factory in Germany. The non-ZIF-based connector system is especially outstanding for its locking system, which works without opening or closing a flap or drawer and without actuating an unlocking mechanism. The Y-Lock version 2 retains all the positive features of version 1, but also offers some interesting new features. An additional plastic stiffener has been added that is mechanically assembled with the FFC. The stiffener then engages with the connector. This new system makes guiding the FFC and inserting the FFC into the connector more convenient. The pull-out force for the FFC has also been increased from about 10N to about 25N. Another advantage of the Y-Lock series is the greatest possible security of the contact coverage between FFC pads and connector. The contact coverage is provided by the FFC guide rails in the connector. This facilitates even more the FFC guiding by the stiffener which positions the FFC. That makes it simply impossible for the FFC to be crooked, which is always a possibility when using ZIF connectors. That means there is no danger of a lack of contact coverage. Version 3 is equipped with additional locking mechanisms for an even better contact reliability in critical applications. The additional lockings are realised by lateral and frontal latches. Besides of the additional lockings the version 3 is identical to version 2. The Y-Lock concept is particularly suitable for space-critical installation situations, permitting secure connections even in the absence of visual contact – whether you are using manual or automated insertion.

Y-SPE Single Pair Ethernet - the future starts now
Yamaichi Electronics offers Y-SPE, a new series of connectors for Industrial Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) according to IEC 63171. The new series initially includes both IP20 sockets and M12 sockets with IP67 protection for PCB mounting in accordance with IEC standards 63171-2, -5, -6 and -7. Single pair Ethernet offers the possibility of efficient data transmission from the sensor to the cloud. The increasing need and ability of machines, devices and also components in the production environment to communicate poses challenges to the previous Ethernet. Especially for systems with cable distances >100 m, there were only few possibilities in terms of Ethernet. Due to the large range and the uniform communication level, single pair Ethernet is therefore generally considered the key in the transition to IIoT and Industry 4.0. Transmission takes place via only two and no longer via four or eight contacts. Due to this fact, it is possible to build smaller connectors than the previous RJ45. The same applies to the cables. Instead of two or four pairs, only one pair is needed. This saves space, raw materials, weight and money. To additionally ensure the supply of power, SPE offers the possibility of using Power over Data Line (PoDL) - similar to Power over Ethernet (PoE). However, the limit here is approx. 60 W. Only the two existing stranded wires are necessary for use. For components that require more energy, hybrid connectors have been entered as a draft standard, for example in 63171-7 for M12. Yamaichi also offers first prototypes for this if required. If a customer-specific design is preferred instead of a standard-compliant design, the customer can of course also be supported in the realisation. New RJ45 Metal Cover with IP69K Protection and Push-Pull Locking System
Within the product line Y-Con RJ45, the Y-Con Cover-40, which has been established for years, has now been replaced by a new metal cover, namely the Y-Con Cover-40 PP with push-pull locking. It facilitates and simplifies handling, with the cover automatically locking or unlocking during the plugging or unplugging process. The new cover also complies with protection ratings IP67/ IP68/ IP69K and is therefore suitable for the harshest industrial environments. It is characterised by high robustness, temperature resistance and durability and is largely protected against vibrations. Reliable data and optional power transmission is thus reliably guaranteed. Of course, the new cover is backwards compatible with the components used so far. This means that IP67/ IP68/ IP69K components already in use can also be connected to the new connector system. The metal cover can be installed in the usual simple self-assembly manner with Y-Con cable plugs and cables. The reduction of individual parts has also reduced complexity and the error rate during assembly for the customer. In addition, the new version offers an enlarged sealing surface and improved EMI protection. Furthermore, the new cover allows the processing of different cable diameters from 6.1 mm to max. 7.1 mm. Small and Extremely Easy to Assemble - M12 Field Assembly Connectors
The new Y-Circ M12 D4 field assembly connector from Yamaichi Electronics is the smallest field assembly connector available on the market. Yamaichi Electronics has been continuously developing new innovative products around the Y-Circ M series for years. "The new D4-coded field-assembly M12 circular connector makes it easier for customers to assemble in the field and offers a convenient extension to the existing product portfolio," explains Matthias Schuster, product manager for circular connectors at Yamaichi Electronics. The enormous time and thus cost savings are made possible by the simple and fast assembly. Only two assembly groups are screwed together, so there are no small parts to lose. When screwed together, two spring elements press on the shielding and ensure the 360° shielding connection. At the same time, the strands are contacted by insulation displacement. This guarantees the secure data transmission of 100 Mbit/s. The assembly of the connector is thus extremely simple. It can also be carried out by inexperienced users. No additional special tools or processes are required. With a dimension of only 52.6 mm and a circumference of max. 17.3 mm, the field-assembly connector is the smallest tool-free D4-coded connector on the market. In general, the field-assembly M12 connectors from Yamaichi Electronics are the ideal complement to the pre-assembled connectors due to their slim and short design, even in confined installation spaces. For example, they offer advantages when laying cables in a cable duct or when the required cable length is unknown. It is also easy to replace the connector in cable assemblies that have already been laid. Other models, such as the field-assembly X8-coded M12 (with data transmission up to 10 Gbit/s), can also be easily configured by the user with the online configurator.
