Synchronous reluctance motor with IE5 efficiency

Mitsubishi Electric's synchronous reluctance motors represent maximum energy efficiency, sustainability, and future-proofing in modern drive systems. Combined with the high-performance frequency converters of the FR-F800 and FR-A800 series, they already achieve the highest efficiency class, IE5, thus meeting current and future requirements for energy-efficient drive technology. Unlike conventional motors, synchronous reluctance motors do not require permanent magnets or rare earth elements. Torque is generated by the magnetic reluctance of the rotor, thereby eliminating electrical losses in the rotor. This results in exceptionally high efficiency, reduced heat generation, and a long service life. A further advantage of this technology lies in its sustainability and independence from global raw material markets. By eliminating the need for critical raw materials such as rare earth elements, environmental impact is also reduced.
