Made in Germany - up to embedded components

CTO Frank Wemken explains the direction as well as background and solutions in the cover interview of openautomation, issue 04/2024, starting on page 8.

Schubert System Elektronik is now positioning itself on the market as a provider of industrial PCs, sensors & monitoring as well as customer-specific overall solutions. "Over the last ten years, our main focus has been on customer-specific developments, especially for machine tool construction," says F.Wemken. "At the same time, around four years ago we established our own series on the market with our modular Prime Cube kit. We buy many of the components used in it, for example the boards," he continues. The company has now expanded its range of services, especially in the electronics sector.

The know-how for this is already available, as F.Wemken explains: "Over many years, our customers have brought their applications to us in intensive discussions and workshops and explained what requirements they derive from them. Together we then developed the optimal application-specific solution." The expertise gained in this process, including in relation to electronics and boards, is now flowing into our own product brand Prime Cube and into electronics and components. "We founded the Components division for this purpose," says F.Wemken. "By focusing on this division, we have increasingly placed our main activities on the development of our own computer boards," he continues, adding: "In the future, we will integrate these into the products and solutions of our other divisions." In this way, SSE is meeting the desire of many customers for a holistic solution offering "Made in Germany".
