What Is an Overhung Load Adaptor (OHLA)?

Protects, stabilizes, extends service life – the Overhung Load Adaptor (OHLA) from Zero-Max reliably absorbs radial and axial loads, relieves motors and gearboxes, and ensures durable, robust drive systems for demanding applications.

An OHLA is a compact bearing housing with an integrated output shaft, mounted between a drive (e.g. motor, gearbox) and a mechanical load, also called bearing support adaptors. It transfers radial and axial overhung loads away from the drive, thereby protecting the drive unit while maintaining torque transmission. With built-in sealing, it shields internal components from contamination. It finds application in conveyors, machinery, mobile equipment, pump systems and offshore environments.

Key Highlights:
• Absorbs radial and axial forces instead of the drive
• Protects sensitive components like motor bearings and gearboxes
• Offers face or base mounting options
• Features robust housing, precise bearings, and effective sealing
• Use cases include belt drives, screw conveyors, marine winches, and mobile machinery
