About us

Like many success stories, that of JAT also has its beginning in a garage: Our
founders, pioneers with a vision, came from the global Zeiss corporation and had
the idea and the bravery to found a technology company after the fall of the Berlin
Wall. Jena drive technology thus began as a classic garage manufacture. The first
years were characterised by conquering a market that was unknown to us,
searching for and finding investors and customers who had faith in us, and
learning from the competitors. The result was a company that recognised its
employees as its most important resource from the very beginning. Our collective
goal: to be the technology specialist in the automation industry.
Even today, it is curiosity and passion that drive us. If a lens, a laser, a sensor or a
workpiece needs to be moved highly dynamically in the sub-micrometre range, we
will find the solution. Our 170 employees develop and manufacture servo
components and highly complex positioning and motion systems for customers
with demanding industrial applications.
Our claim to be a pioneer attracts customers who appreciate our interdisciplinary
and experienced development and manufacturing. In addition to our expertise,
what sets us apart as JAT is our passion for each and every project. We go the extra
mile, for our clients, their success, but also for ourselves.

JAT Informationsportal, Daten und Dokumente, digital, on-demand

The JAT information portal provides all information on products and solutions. Customers of mechatronic systems can get a customer-specific area in the portal. In addition to publicly accessible documents, all accompanying documents can be found here, from the spare parts list to the test report, assigned via the indexed serial number. From the motor data sheet to the accompanying technical documentation for handling and positioning systems: We attach great importance to the careful and structured preparation of all information. Because this forms the basis for simple and unambiguous use by the respective user group. Every component and every subsystem has an informational description of properties and functions and is an integral part of the product. The technical documentation records all this information and documents in the JAT information portal.

Gantry-System with air bearing and CFRP axes

First time - combining air bearing technology with CFRP lightweight construction: The production of microelectronics is becoming more and more precise, calling for innovation. JAT is breaking new ground in order to meet the ever increasing demands towards accuracy and dynamics. The new FAST 4 PnP gantry system boasts an innovative technology combination to deliver a super fast and supremely precise pick'n'place process. The foundational granite has high thermal stability and very good vibration damping, therefore it is ideally suited for nanometer range precision positioning. A frictionless CFRP axis runs on air bearings on top of it. Due to its high mechanical and thermal load-bearing capacity, CFRP is ideal for extremely high processing speeds. The frictionless air bearings in combination with the minimal axis weight enable accelerartions of 100 m/s² and more.
